Saturday Scramble: Cheesecake

cheese cake

Tomorrow, March 6th is National White Chocolate Cheesecake Day!  Not a fan of white chocolate? You should still celebrate cheesecake – I may dig out my springform pan and revisit this Brownie Cheesecake recipe from  Cooking Light magazine.   Did you know that the first “cheese cake” may have been created on the Greek island of Samos.  Physical anthropologists excavated cheese molds there which were dated circa 2,000 BC!  And this fun fact could prove that cheesecake is actually a health food: it’s believed that cheesecakes were served to athletes competing during the first Olympic games in 776 B.C. to give them energy.  Athletes!  That’s all the convincing I need. I’m off to pour myself a bowl of cheesecake cereal while I wait for my brownie cheesecake to bake…
